5 Ways to Stop Stressing (and Actually Enjoy Planning Your Wedding)
If you’ve opened Instagram lately, you’ve probably seen at least 47 posts shouting “BOOK YOUR SUPPLIERS NOW BEFORE IT’S TOO LATE!”
Let’s all take a deep breath together.
You don’t need to panic-book your entire wedding this week.
Yes, wedding planning can feel overwhelming… There are so many choices, opinions, and checklists. But it doesn’t have to be chaos. Here are five ways to make planning feel easier (and actually enjoy the ride).
1. Stop Doom-Scrolling Suppliers
Scrolling through endless wedding accounts is the fastest route to stress city. The algorithm’s job? To make you panic.
The truth? It’s a saturated market… And that’s a good thing. There are so many brilliant suppliers out there that you will 100% find people who fit your vibe, your budget, and your priorities.
So, close the tab. Grab a coffee. The right people aren’t going anywhere.
2. Pick People, Not Pinterest Boards
Your wedding is about connection, not curation.
When you choose suppliers, don’t just look for “aesthetic”… Look for energy. Who makes you feel calm? Who gets your humour? Who do you actually want around you on the morning of your wedding?
Because when you’re relaxed and genuinely happy, it shows. (And it photographs a whole lot better than a moodboard ever could.)
3. Make Decisions, Then Move On
Once you’ve made a decision, celebrate it, then stop second-guessing yourself.
You don’t need to see 43 versions of the same bouquet or keep stalking other photographers after you’ve booked one (👀 guilty?).
Trust your gut… And your suppliers. You chose them for a reason.
4. Remember What the Day’s Really About
Your wedding isn’t a performance. It’s a celebration of your story, your people, and your kind of love.
When things feel stressful, zoom out. You don’t need to make everyone else happy… You just need to make it you.
Whether that’s a red wedding dress, a pub reception, or a first dance to Taylor Swift, the magic is in the meaning.
5. Find Suppliers Who Bring Calm, Not Chaos
Your suppliers set the tone for your day.
You want people who’ll bring calm energy, not crank up the pressure. People who’ll make you feel safe to be yourself, who’ll roll with whatever the day throws their way, and who’ll quietly make everything feel easy.
That’s how I approach photography… Calm in the chaos, relaxed, fun, and all about capturing the real stuff.
A Final Little Reminder
There’s no right way to plan a wedding. There’s only your way. So take your time, find people who feel right, and don’t let the internet tell you what your timeline should look like.
Because future you will thank you for slowing down… And enjoying the bit before “I do.”
