I’ve been photographing weddings since 2015 (like, holy shittttttt, what!), which means I’ve spent a slightly ridiculous amount of time watching people fall in love, cry and laugh until they snort, lose their shoes and absolutely destroy a dance floor.
And i bloody love it.
I’m not really interested in making your wedding look like someone else’s.
I want to photograph YOUR people. Your perfectly normal (but you might think are weird) family dynamics. The mates who have known each other since school. The nan who unexpectedly goes feral on the dance floor. The kid who refuses to leave the cake alone. The massive hug. The ugly cry. The questionable dance moves.
All the stuff that makes the day yours.
How i work…
I’m a prompt, not a pose and tell kind of photographer.
I’ll give you a bit of direction when you need it. I’ll tell you where to stand if you look completely lost. I’ll also squeal in delight when the light is absoluetly perfect on you. Ultimately, I’ll guide you into photos where you look bloody brilliant without making you feel like someone you’re not. You’ll still look like you. Just … very good. I’ll make sure the important people are photographed. And, with a little forward planning, I’ll organise group photos so they don’t eat your drinks reception.
And then?
I’ll get out of the way.
Because you don’t need to spend your wedding performing for a camera.
You need to be with your people.
I’ll be there catching it.
A FEW THINGS ABOUT ME.
I studied art at university, which sounds very impressive until you realise I spent a disproportionate amount of my time in the darkroom messing about with film instead of doing what I was actually supposed to be doing.
I started shooting film when i was about 14, after finding an old camera in a draw at home, I still have it. Because apparently I’m sentimental about cameras.
These days, when I’m not photographing weddings, I’m usually drinking a frankly unreasonable amount of tea, going to see live music, planning my next escape or being chauffeur, bank manager and general life administrator to my two teenagers.
I have far too many pairs of converse. Fact.
I’m a fully committed fan girl. Life’s too short not to be completely consumed by something. Taylor Swift, Harry styles… you get the idea.
I will always laugh at my own jokes too. No one will ever find me funnier than I find myself.
